Blind

I have at last got round to re-fitting a blind cord which when initially put on the window frame was very loose. It was one of those jobs which I knew wouldn't take long to complete but took ages to actually get around to doing it!

Juicing

Thought I'd post a picture of the juicer that is so invaluable in our house for making lovely refreshing juices. My favourite juice is one made from carrots, beetroot, oranges, apples, and broccoli. It is gorgeous. You should try it!

A55

Done a lot of walking today... Had to drop off my car for it's yearly service this morning after a night shift and walked back to Conwy from KJ Ford in Llandudno Junction. Went to bed then for a couple of hours and then have just got back from walking to the garage to collect it again. Will hopefully sleep well tonight!

The picture above shows the A55 from the road between Conwy and Llandudno Junction. You can just about make out where it goes under the sea into a tunnel.

Grey's Anatomy

Grey's Anatomy is back for a brand new series on Living TV which means that one of my favourite actors is to be seen on the screen again - Patrick Dempsey or better known as "McDreamy". This American series, which tells the stories of a group of surgical interns, really has me gripped with brilliant moving and emotional story lines. Have watched the recap and now can't wait to see the first episode of series 3.

Recycle Now

Since Tom and I have started recycling more over the last month or so we are only using one bin bag a week. It is amazing to think that everything else is being recycled. All our plastic now goes to Tesco, paper, tin, and glass is due to be collected by the council and anything that can be composted goes on the compost heap at the bottom of the garden. It's amazing really that so much of what we usually chuck out can be used again.

DIY Richard

I have spent most of the day in the great outdoors reassembling the gate at the bottom of our garden. For pictures of the finished result visit my garden blog. I am really proud of my achievement which involved using a hammer, electric drill and electric screwdriver!

Wembley

I haven't actually been to the new Wembley but with the football playing there last weekend I was reminded of my visits there in the past and thought I would post this photo of when I went with Tom and my brother and sister to see Madonna in Wembley Arena last year.

Heroes

One of my favourite programmes on the television at the moment is Heroes. The characters are amazing and the storyline is incredible. I can never wait until the next week to see what happens and where the story leads.

Any Dream Will Do

My favourite Joseph went this evening - Daniel. I am a little shocked but hope that my second choice of Ben does well now. Lee has got to go soon!

As usual Graham Norton and the rest of the team were on form - I wonder if Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber has a fan club?

Conwy Post Office

After yesterdays news about 2,500 post offices closing by 2009 I hope that Conwy Post Office isn't one of them! This little shop is ideally located for myself and lots of other locals to enable us to send our parcels and do other business. There is very often a queue leading me to believe that it must be quite a busy Post Office and therefore well used. I cannot understand how these closures can help communities? I know a lot more is done on-line now but people still need a place to collect and send things from.

Conwy Market

This poster has advertised the Conwy Market for a number of years and it is a shame that this last Tuesday was the last planned market. Follow the link earlier to a news item about it. It will be a loss I feel for the local people of Conwy.

Sunflowers

Have only been out the house briefly today so nothing has happened of note to take a picture of really. Have updated my CV for a job I have applied for and done some shopping! Thought this photo would balance the dullness of the wet day we have had today and make me hope for a lovely summer.

Seagulls Nesting

Seagulls are nesting in our garden at work. They have been very territorial and sweep down and squawk loudly at anything that comes near them! There appeared to be one egg in the nest which one gull, I assume to be the female, only briefly leaves to collect more nest material.

Thomas' Diner

I know that this isn't a picture as such so I will not count it as my once a day but as an extra. It is an attempt at a video made with Windows Movie Maker.

WeightWatchers

I have lost over a stone in weight since commencing the MP5 plan from WeightWatchers. My aim is to reach the top of my ideal Body Mass Index weight which is about 12 stone 9 pounds. I have a long way to go but my first target is to reach 13 stone 7 pounds which will mean I have lost 10 percent of my initial body weight which is really good. I am almost at that target and will treat myself to some new clothes then!

Bracket Fungus

This bracket fungus appears every year on a tree in the grounds of the hospital I work. It is always amazing and almost alien like in its appearance. Close up, I could see that many slugs had made it their home!

I am hoping that the sunflowers I have sowed in the garden this year grow as well as this one did last year. I love sunflowers and they are my favourite flower.

Tesco Bangor

Popped to Tesco Bangor this morning. What a store! Tesco is one of my favourite shops. I could spend hours there browsing all the aisles particularly this store as it is so big. I love collecting the points too, especially the green club card points which you get for buying certain products and re-using plastic bags.

This store in Bangor used to be my local one before it was revamped into an "extra" a couple of years ago and I miss the variety of things that it offered. The store in Llandudno Junction is not as big and being vegetarian find it difficult to find some things that I like. That still doesn't stop me going there practically everyday!
