Llys Tryfan

Well, this was where I spent many a happy moment in the first two years of University life in Bangor - and it has been knocked down! Llys Tryfan was a halls of residence which was practically falling down when I lived there from 1990 to 1992 but I am gutted to see that it has been knocked down and a new build has been started in it's place!

Shelves put up in the alcove at the bottom of the stairs by myself with a lot of help from my dad!

Rain

The road outside our house yesterday was like a river. Have not seen rain like it in years!

Baking

Have made some Rock Cakes and two Fruit Cakes today. The Fruit Cakes have been made in the bread-making machine. It is so easy to do.... simply chuck all the ingredients in the machine and turn it on! Wrights Flour do some lovely cake mixes which I have used in the past. Of course they also do breads.

Great Orme

Cycled to Llanfairfechan this afternoon - took this photo of the Great Orme and Llandudno in the distance from the hill between Penmaenmawr and Llanfairfechan.

Sunflowers

Tom and I drove to Harlech yesterday for a walk. It was lovely to reminisce about holidays I had there when younger.

We always stay in the Russell Hotel in London. This is a fountain in the park nearby.

New Job

Front of the good luck card from my brother for my new job. It is week two on my own and it is going well so far. My brain is absolutely scrambled my the end of the day though!

London

Been to London over the weekend and met up with my brother. Saw some of the sites and did lots of shopping!

Lavenham

Haven't posted for a few days as been away. Been to my parents in Suffolk. Caught up with family and friends and also visited Lavenham, a beautiful village with many old wooden framed houses. To see more pictures checkout my flickr page.

New Job

Started my new job today as a community psychiatric nurse for six months in the Llandudno area. Have had a few lovely cards and lots of best wishes from people and have thoroughly enjoyed my first day. I am shadowing another CPN for almost two weeks to pick up what to do etc. and have already got my own diary with two appointments in!

Cows

The cows in a field along Bangor Road in Conwy which can be heard mooing from our house...

Barber

Popped along to the barbers in Conwy today when I woke up. It is my last opportunity to get it cut before going home next week. The above shop is my preferred one but it was shut so went to the one on the hill. Did you know that the Barber's Pole is associated with the service of blood letting since barbers used to do surgery, dentistry and hairdressing.

Conwy Mountain

What I love about where I live is the fact that within a five minute walk you can be up a mountain and have a birds eye view of Conwy, Llandudno Junction, Deganwy and most of Llandudno too. It is an amazing view and well worth the little hike up quite a steep hill to get there. The above picture was taken earlier this year when my brother visited and we saw these two little ponies up there. Previously there have been sheep and goats.

Crocus

This isn't a recent photograph but is one of my favourite pictures that I have taken. It was taken in my parents' garden on a dewy February morning a couple of years ago. I love the way the water sits on the flowers. By the way you can see other pictures of mine on Flickr

Running

Went for a Pizza Hut today. Have felt guilty since so went for a run just now before tea! If you like running you should check our Runner's World and Fetcheveryone websites - very useful resources for all levels of runners.

Scales

Weighed myself again today and I am now in my twelfth week of my diet. I have now lost 1 stone and about 4 pounds. Not long to go until I reach my first target of 13 stone and 7 pounds!!
